SOT, Dianne Abbott, Shadow Home Secretary: "Tomorrow the Tories are going to announce the election of Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. Well, we are here to give him an early welcome and we are here to say he shouldn't get too comfortable because we're going to get him out."

SOT, Dianne Abbott, Shadow Home Secretary: "He was a rotten mayor of London. Most of the things he claimed credit for, the bicycles, the buses, the Olympics, were actually the creation and the work of Ken Livingstone. But he's also, I think, going to be one of the most right-wing Tory Prime Ministers we've seen in some time. He believes in austerity, he believes in cuts, he believes that an elite like him should run this country. And also, we have to look at one of his best friends internationally, Donald Trump."

SOT, Dianne Abbott, Shadow Home Secretary: "Trump's message is you can't be properly American unless you're white. Trump's message is a white nationalist message. You would've seen him on the television, standing back and smiling as his supporters chanted 'Send her home' about one of those congresswomen. And that white nationalism is something he shares with Boris Johnson."

Protesters called for a general election as they gathered outside London’s Houses of Parliament on Monday – the eve of the announcement of the UK’s new Prime Minister, expected to be former UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
The demonstrators were joined by Britain’s Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott, who hit out at the former London mayor’s friendship with US President Donald Trump.
“White nationalism is something he [Trump] shares with Boris Johnson," she said.
Abbott also criticised Johnson’s support for the policy of austerity and slammed his track record during his time as mayor as “rotten.”
The results of the leadership contest are due to be announced tomorrow at 11.45am local time (10:45 GMT)
