France: Hollande meets Poroshenko, moots 'gradual lifting' of sanctions

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was received by French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace in Paris, Tuesday, where they discussed the implementation of the Minsk agreement in the east of Ukraine, ahead of a reported forthcoming meeting featuring German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin under the "Normandy Format" in early July.
At the meeting, Hollande said the sanctions "have been extended so they can be a strong incentive for the implementation of the Minsk agreement." Hollande noted that this "is still our position," but stressed that if Minsk is fully committed to, there may be a "gradual lifting" of the sanctions.
