"Most of these people took office and all they care about is getting re-elected in 2020. No way. We put you there to be a check on [US President Donald] Trump to hold him accountable," said protest organiser Amy Siskind.
"This is our house. We elected you to run our government. We the people. Not to only care about being re-elected. We elected you to uphold our constitution, our countries laws which are being broken daily," she added.
"The message is for people to take to the streets and start walking and speak up. Talk to their representatives, talk to their senators, speak to their congressmen. We need to start impeachment. We need to get the truth out and most of all vote next year. That's the biggest power we have, is the power to vote," said another protester.
