The resignation of four high-ranking ministers and one speaker of parliament in connection with Wednesday's wiretapping scandal sparked outrage among many of the residents of Warsaw, Thursday. Privatisation Minister Wlodzimierz Karpinski, Health Minister Bartosz Arlukowicz, Sports Minister Andrzej Biernat and Security Minister Jacek Cichocki along with Speaker of Parliament Radoslaw Sikorski submitted their resignations on Wednesday, just four months before the country's parliamentary elections. The scandal originated when Sikorski, Karpinski, Arlukowicz and Biernat were secretly taped during private meetings in a Warsaw restaurant in 2013 and 2014. In the recordings, the ministers can be heard making jokes comparing the country's relationship with the U.S. to giving oral sex for nothing in return. The group also criticised colleagues and foreign leaders.
