Thousands of people marched through the streets of Bratislava to demand equal legal rights and recognition for the LGBTI community in the Slovak capital on Saturday.
''In this country, which is in the heart of Europe, of the European Union, we still have to solve such pitiful things... It seems to me to be inept," activist Peter Novak told the crowd.
The size of the Pride event is a sign of better days to come said Diana Pruchnerovicova, director of Pride Bratislava. ''I believe that better times are coming and the proof of it is also the fact that from the stage I cannot see the end of the participants,'' she said.
Meanwhile supporters of the 'Proud of the Family' movement were seen marching in an anti-LGBTI protest.
