The parliamentary group leader of The Left Party (Die Linke), Gregor Gysi, laid out his reasons for voting against the bailout of Greece, on Tuesday, from Berlin. Germany's parliament will vote on the bailout on Wednesday, with the majority of German lawmakers expected to approve the loans. Germany and all the other countries that use the euro currency have agreed in principle on a three-year bailout. Greece is set to receive the first chunk of its third bailout on Thursday. The aid package is worth up to €85 billion ($94bn). Gysi said the Greek loan will increase dependence upon the Troika - the European Central Bank (ECB), the European Commission (EC), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The three-year bailout assures Greece's place in the eurozone and includes measures such as the formation of a new independent privatisation fund, the gradual increase of the pension age to 67 and a review of the spending of the social welfare system. Greece has already received two massive bailouts worth €240 billion ($265 billion) in the last five years.
