Russian Deputy Minister of Defence Anatoli Antonov announced that Moscow is considering Washington's proposals on fighting the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), in a press conference delivered in the Russian capital, Tuesday. "The Americans proposed us a document and we are working on it. I want to say that this document has largely received the support of the General Staff. I think that this document will be useful both for the anti-ISIL coalition and the Russian Defence Ministry," he said. Antonov also expressed disappointment over recent statements made by NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and U.S. Defence Minister Ashton Carter on the necessity to "confront and counter Russia in Syria." He added that a "real information war" has begun over Syria. The deputy defence minister also confirmed that Russian officials "will hold a second video conference with our American partners" over the next few days, adding that it "would be better if our colleagues come to us, so we could sit here, in the Ministry of Defence, face to face, and discuss all the problems."
