Trident Juncture shows that NATO's capabilities are 'real' and 'ready,' said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg after witnessing the alliance's live military drills in Zaragoza, on Wednesday. "Exercises like this show that NATO stands strong; ready to protect our values, our people and our territories," added the secretary general. Stoltenberg was joined by Spanish Defence Minister Pedro Morenes and Lieutenant General John W Nicholson, Commander of the Allied Land Command. The US-led Trident Juncture 2015 military exercises involve 36,000 troops from 30 countries and will take place until November 6. Involving 230 military units who will perform in bases in Spain, Italy and Portugal, the exercises will be the biggest NATO military exercise to take place since 2002.
