Yves Rossi and his protege, skydive champion Vince Reffet, flew over Dubai with jet-powered wingsuits in the first-ever twin human formation jet-pack flight, Tuesday, performing a series of loops, turns and swoops in Dubai's airspace. The duo took off from the Skydive Dubai skydiving Center in the Dubai Marina area on Tuesday morning. After being dropped from a helicopter they soared over Dubai using carbon-fibre wings fixed to their backs with a harness and mounted with four kerosene-powered jets, capable of a combined 88 kilograms of thrust. The duo's jet-powered wings can reach speeds of 200kph (124mph). The jet-packs Rossi and Reffet used were developed by the former, who became the first person to fly long distance using only his body for steering when he flew over the Swiss Alps for eight minutes using an experimental wingpack in 2008.
