USA: Bernie Sanders outlines policies on jobs & healthcare

Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders declared that America needs “a major federal jobs programme to put millions of people back to work,” during a speech in Fort Dodge, Iowa on Sunday. Sanders took the opportunity to outline some of his other policy ideas, including “medicare for all” and the breaking up of financial institutions “which are too big to fail.” Earlier on Sunday, Sanders said the US should work with China, Russia, India and other countries around the world to transform "our energy system away from fossil fuel to energy efficiency and sustainable energy." On Saturday, the US Senator also addressed the Latino Heritage Festival in Des Moines, Iowa, calling for widespread change in the nation's immigration policies and reform that would enable undocumented migrants to become full-fledged citizens.
