you don't instill in the future constitution, the revocatory referendum that allows you to control your
elected officials all along their mandate and fire them if they betray you."
Presidential candidate for the "La France insoumise" party Jean-Luc Melenchon slammed the French government and the European Union (EU) for implementing the new labour laws, during a rally in Paris, Sunday. At least 10,000 demonstrators gathered at Stalingrad square in Paris to support Melenchon.
Melenchon claimed that the labour law, was approved through the influence of European Union, as the same law "was requested as well in Belgium, Italy and Spain." He added that the first thing required to create real change is the rejection of European Treaties.
Talking to his supporters, Melenchon criticised the current French constitution, particularly article 49.3, which allows an amendment to law without requiring a vote, calling it "a must for the presidential monarchy to serve absolute capitalism."
Jean-Luc Melenchon already stood as a presidential candidate for the 'Left Front' party in 2012, gaining 11 percent of the vote in the first round.
