Former CSU politician and political activist Michael Sturzenberger led a far-right protest in Frankfurt, Saturday. Sturzenberger, now leader of the right-wing Freedom Party, explained the motivations for the protest as against the alleged "Islamification of Germany" and against the purported "abuse of asylum requests." Clashes reportedly erupted between Antifa activists and far-right nationalists. Around 5,000 Antifa activists and 400 far-right activists were believed to be in attendance. The police reported making around 100 arrests, most of whom were antifa.
