Everybody "wins and benefits" from "peaceful and constructive" talks between Russia and the United States, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitri Polyansky said during a World Cup reception alongside his French and Swedish colleagues in New York City, Monday.
"What happened today in Helsinki is a good start," Polyanskiy stated, "It doesn't mean that we will see a lot of issues eye to eye. But the more we speak, the more we will be united on some issues."
France's Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Francois Delattre pointed out "there are not many world problems that we can solve without strong commitment from the US and Russia" alongside other countries.
"Dialogue is always important. And I can't think of a better place to do it in Finland, Helsinki at this time of the year," Sweden's Ambassador to the United Nations Carl Skau added.
Trump and Putin met on Monday in Helsinki. Two leaders discussed a range of international issues and bilateral relations, in particular, the alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 US elections, Syria, Ukraine, NATO and US economic sanctions.
