Former CIA Officer Sentenced to 3-1/2 Years in Prison

Jeffrey Sterlin, a former CIA officer, was sentenced on Monday to three-and-a-half years in prison for leaking to a New York Times reporter details of a secret U.S. operation targeting Iran's nuclear program. A jury convicted Sterling on nine felony counts in January after a roughly three-week trial. The jury found Sterling was a source of classified information that appeared in New York Times reporter James Risen’s 2006 book, “State of War.”
