Hundreds of people marched through Atlanta on Thursday to protest against the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal, as trade officials from the U.S. and 11 other Pacific Rim countries meet in the city to discuss the controversial agreement. Activists from the #StopTPP Coalition and Jobs With Justice rallied through downtown Atlanta in protest of the deal, which they claim threatens jobs, the environment and workers' rights The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a trade agreement beig negotiated between several Pacific Rim countries including Japan, Canada, Mexico and Australia. The deal concerns a variety of matters within economic policies including trade barriers such as tariffs, intellectual property and environmental law. Although the text of the treaty has not been made public, Wikileaks has published several leaked documents since 2013.
