The Russian 'Night Wolves' motorcycle club will sue the German government, confirmed the group's leader Alexander "The Surgeon" Zaldostanov during a press conference in Moscow, Wednesday. The suit comes after Germany refused visas and entry to several of the group's members as they attempted to reach Berlin as part of their Victory Day rally. Zaldostanov said he wants to see members compensated for their outlay for the trip, as well as over the issue of their cancelled visas. He added that a group of Germans would be paying for the lawsuit, as it was German nationals who gathered the money to support the bikers on their rally. The bikers have already staged a protest at the German Embassy in Moscow on May 9 where they erected an eight-metre-high (26 ft) replica of Berlin's Soldier-Liberator Soviet War memorial The Night Wolves set off on a 6,000-kilometre (3,728-mile) journey from Moscow to Berlin in April to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II.
