SOT, Ardine Williams, Vice President Workforce Development, HQ2 at Amazon: "This is 'Career Day.' This is one of six sites across the US, today we are in Arlington, Boston, Nashville, Chicago, Dallas and Seattle. And it's an opportunity for people to come and learn more about Amazon and explore the more than 30,000 jobs that we currently have open across the United States."
SOT, Journalist: "And can you just tell me why should people be excited in the area about Amazon coming and developing here?"

The site we are at right now is the future home for two of our buildings and we will grow over the next 10 to 12 years from 400 employees this year to more than 25,000. And so this is an opportunity, just a first opportunity, for people to get to know more about us."

So I'm looking, I'm just looking for different jobs, especially something I may be interested in. So I'm just really turning over every stone because all the nos lead you to a yes. So that's how I look at it. So I'm just here taking advantage of an opportunity, why not. I like to stay productive, that's my thing, move forward and always elevate. So I'm figuring like, 'I'm not doing anything else right now, so why not go?'"

SOT, Jobseeker: "It's going to balloon for sure, so definitely additional housing is going to pop up. There is going to be a lot of folks moving into the area. But I think it's going to be a good boom all around. Because Herndon, AWS (Amazon Web Services, Inc.) way down there is packed. So if they can sort of level out between here and the rest of the area, that's going to be perfect. But Amazon is just going to have a complete dominance over Washington."

Thousands of jobseekers lined up Tuesday for an opportunity to visit Amazon's 'Career Day' in Arlington, Virginia, where up to 25,000 new jobs are expected over the next ten years.
"I think Amazon coming to Arlington is really sort of going to drive not only growth economically but also it's going to create more jobs, bring a lot more income to the area and sort of create that tech hub that sort of we are still a little lacking," said job seeker Vladimir.
"Amazon is just going to have a complete dominance over Washington," one job seeker added.
In addition to Arlington — the location of Amazon's second North American headquarters — the company held career days in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville and Seattle.
