Pope Francis arrived in Mexico City, Saturday, following his historic meeting with Patriarch Kirill in Cuba the day before.
The pope landed in Mexico City International Airport, where he was greeted by Mexican President Pena Nieto and his wife Angelica Rivera in a special welcoming ceremony attended by thousands. After accepting two white roses, the Pope took to the microphone and prayed with the crowd.
An Argentine native, and the first pontiff to be born in the Americas, it is the fourth official trip that Pope Francis has taken around the Americas.
