Protesters clashes with Lebanese security forces guarding the country's parliament in Beirut on Thursday as legislators met to vote on an austerity vote.
The protesters, most of them army veterans, erected barricades and burnt tyres before seeking to storm the building. Riot police and soldiers managed to hold them back amid pushing and scuffles.
The group had been camped outside parliament for three days as members of parliament debate the bill.
After the protests, the speaker adjourned the evening sessions and postponed the vote until Friday.
The austerity measures, consisting of budget cuts and tax increases, are aimed at averting a financial crisis in Lebanon.
