Germany: Protesters rally against AfD conference in Ludwigsburg

Protesters demonstrated outside the Krauthof Hotel in the town of Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart on Sunday, where an event held by the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) was taking place.
Protesters from the antifa 'Red-Black' initiative, the Stuttgart youth wing of the Die Linke party, and local councilor Oliver Kube were among those at the protest.
The demonstrators rallied outside the Krauthof Hotel with anti-fascist flags and pro-refugee banners to protest against the closed meeting held by AfD politician Bjorn Hocke.
Around 40 police officers were deployed to prevent the demonstration from escalating; two protesters were detained.
