Украйна: Местни все още намират останки от падналият самолет MH17

More than a year after the Malaysian Airlines MH17 tragedy, Natalya Voloshina, the mayor of Petropavlovsk, said that residents of the Ukrainian town are still finding the debris of the aircraft, Tuesday. Following the advice of the Dutch investigators, the locals collect all the parts of the crashed plane and bring them to Voloshina, who coordinates the collection of the fragments in the local administration and consults with foreign investigators via e-mails and phonecalls. According to the mayor, residents find debris around their houses or when farming. If the are small enough, locals bring the pieces to the city council themselves, while large parts are collected by a special team. However, Voloshina criticised foreign investigators, stating that they have not set a date for the fragments to be handed over. She is eager to finalise the process so the village can move on. The tragic event saw 289 people die, when Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on 17 July, 2014. Western nations have alleged the plane was brought down by a Russian supplied missile, while the Kremlin has strongly denied the accusations and blamed Ukrainian forces for the incident. The Dutch Safety Board will report their findings in the latter part of 2015.
