PETA and Spanish animal rights organisation, AnimaNaturalis joined forces on Wednesday to protest the running of the bulls at the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain.
"We're after the abolition of the bullfighting, the abolition of all spectacles that use cruelty against animals either in the name of festivities, in the name of tradition, or in the name of a Saint," said one protester.
Dozens of protesters amassed in the city's main square 'Plaza del Castillo'. Wearing just bullhorns and underwear they poured buckets of fake blood over themselves to protest against the tradition.
The San Fermin festival is held annually in Pamplona from July 6 to 14, every morning for seven days six bulls chase runners along a route through the old town and toward the city's bullring.
