Russian arms manufacturers Kalashnikov Concern presented their latest prototype pistol, known as the PL-14 or 'Lebedev Pistol,' during drills on the Albino range in Kubinka, on the outskirts of Moscow, Wednesday, as part of the International Military-Technical Forum 'Army-2015'. Despite still being in development, the PL-14 is expected to be a success, having been specifically designed for the Russian Federal Security Service. Kalashnikov are hopeful that the pistol will be used by the Russian military once the final product has been completed. Aside from the new pistol, there was a wide range of Kalashnikov rifles also on display during the presentation including the AK-12, AK-74, AK-15 and even an Orsis T-5000 sniper rifle. The Army-2015 expo is organised by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and runs from June 16 to 19. The forum is a platform for interaction between defence industries and military authorities to facilitate innovative research and development in military technologies and equipment.
