The 2nd annual 5k Sumo Run Ireland kicked off on the Bray seafront in County Wicklow at 12 noon local time, Sunday to raise funds for Purple House Cancer Support.
Hundreds took part in the charity event, running 5 km (3.1 miles) over a mixture of grass and concrete ground whilst wearing inflated Sumo suits. The route itself consisted of five laps of the Bray seafront and all participants were able to take home their nylon inflatables which maintained their shape with the help of in-built fans.
Sumo Run Ireland was established to raise funds for Purple House Cancer Support, which helps the family members of those affected by cancer.
