German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier warned of following Cold War "reflexes" as he voiced his opinion on Russia's missile plans, at a joint press conference with his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni, in Berlin, Wednesday. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Tuesday that Russia intends to boost its weapons arsenal with an additional 40 new intercontinental ballistic missiles in 2015. Prior to Russia unveiling its plans, the United States proposed to increase NATO military presence in Eastern European member states. While criticising Russia's intentions, saying they do not promote stability, Steinmeier also reminded everyone that "the world has changed since 1989" and the different blocs are not supposed to fight each other anymore.
