Italy: Leftists hold protest in Florence against upcoming referendum

Activists from various left-wing organisations rallied in Florence's Ognissanti square, Saturday, against the changes proposed in the upcoming Italian constitutional referendum, due to take place on December 4. A crowd of hundreds assembled exhibiting numerous flags of leftist organisations and spread anti-referendum leaflets.
On December 4, 2016, Italians will head for polling stations to vote whether they approve a constitutional amendment which would reportedly transform the Senate of the Republic into a 'Senate of Regions.' The amendment's opponents claim that an eventual positive outcome of the referendum will see an increase in government dominion and power.
