Around 100 Kurdish people and pro-Kurdish activists gathered in front of the central railway station in downtown Leipzig on Sunday to show their support for the victims of Saturday's double bombing in Ankara. Protesters held signs condemning the Turkish government and carried pictures of Kurdish victims. Demonstrators called for a new government in Turkey and for an end to violence against Kurdish people. At least 95 people were killed and more than 245 left injured in a double explosion in Ankara on Saturday morning. The blasts rocked the area near Ankara Central railway station, Turkey's busiest train hub. The bombs targeted the venue of the 'Labour, Peace, Democracy' rally, which was scheduled to begin at 10:00 local time (0700 GMT). The rally was planned by Turkey's biggest trade union in protest against the Turkish government's policy towards the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
