Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Moscow after they had spent part of the day together at the MAKS 2015 air show at the Zhukovski Airfield in the Moscow region, Tuesday. Both leaders discussed the situation in Syria, with King Abdullah II stating that Russia's role was "vital" in bringing about a political solution to the Syria crisis. Putin also welcomed the opportunity to discuss the situation in the region and bilateral relations between Russia and Jordan. Apart from Syria, Putin and King Abdullah II are expected to discuss cooperation between both countries, including plans for Jordan’s first nuclear plant and the fight against the so-called Islamic State.
