Ukraine: Poroshenko meets with Savchenko in Kiev

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko met with former Ukrainian servicewoman and current deputy of Verkhovna Rada Nadezhda Savchenko, in Kiev on Saturday.
According to the President’s press service, Poroshenko coordinated with Savchenko the prospects of presentation of the Ukraine’s position in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the European Parliament.
Answering the question about her readiness to engage in work on the international stage, Savchenko said: “My desire depends on the Ukraine’s desires. As you make them real now, I am ready to work wherever you say.”
The Ukrainian President also offered Savchenko to visit a number of European countries and to meet with European leaders.
On Wednesday Savchenko arrived in Kiev after President Vladimir Putin signed a decree pardoning her in exchange of two Russian citizens detained in Ukraine.
The servicewoman was sentenced to 22 years in prison after being convicted for murder of two Russian journalists, Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin, in Ukraine's Lugansk Region, and of illegally crossing the Russian border.
