Belgium: Actions in Aleppo 'completely inhumane' - Merkel
1
20.10.2016
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that "what's happening in Syria with Russian support is completely inhumane, against the people who live in Aleppo," speaking ahead of the European Council meeting in Brussels, Thursday.
She continued, "a ceasefire must be worked on as soon as possible and not for several hours per day, followed by bombing rather than a lasting ceasefire, which will allow to get humanitarian assistance for the people."
Speaking on the agenda of the meeting, Merkel also stressed that the European Council members "will discuss the relationship with Russia."
