Greece: Angry pensioners rally in Athens demanding full pensions

Members of the All Workers Militant Front and groups of pensioners staged a protest in front of the Zappeion building in the centre of Athens, Friday, to protest against government measures to cut pensions.
The protesters aimed to reach the Greek Ministry of Labour but rallied in front of Zappeion, where a labour congress with unions and European labour ministers, including Greek Minister of Labour Georgios Katrougalos, was due to take place. Demonstrators shouted slogans against the European Union and Katrougalos, and hung a caricature poster of him in front of the building in which he was depicted as Edward Scissorhands.
One of the protesters, Mr Stelios, commented on the rally, saying that pensioners have "reached the poverty line." He underlined that "people outside of the EU, who think they have lost by not joining this union" should see the poverty in which Greek pensioners find themselves.
