16.11.2018
Polish soldiers were joined by units from other NATO countries to hold joint military drills on Friday close to the village of Drawsko Pomorskie, as part of the NATO member states' Anakonda 2018 joint exercises.
The 2018 edition of the Anakonda exercises is taking place from November 7 - December 6, and is set to see the participation of around 12.000 soldiers from Poland and other NATO countries.
The Anakonda exercise began in 2006 and takes place every two years under the organisation of the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command. It has since progressed from being purely a military exercise on the regional and national level to an exercise whose aim is to integrate international forces to carry out defensive operations. In light of the changing security environment, Anakonda has become an allied exercise with increased participation from NATO countries.
