Srinagar, the summer capital of India's Jammu and Kashmir state, wore a deserted look as curfew continued for the 13th straight day even as some restrictions on movement were reportedly eased on Saturday.
Footage shows armed security personnel guarding streets and standing outside shops and other establishments which remained shut, with many locals staying indoors. Roadblocks were set up on the streets.
Cars were seen driving in some parts of the city as the state's administration had allowed government offices to start work from Friday.
The central government has decided to resume landline services from Sunday, while schools are expected to reopen on Monday.
