*UPSOUND* Putin (Russian): “Oh, it’s nothing, pulled [the finger] a little, the nail ripped off. It's okay, I'm not a girl, I won't cry. Although our girls are very strong.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Aleksander Lukashenko hit the ice in Sochi’s Olympic Park on Friday.
The presidents arrived for the ice hockey training session at the ‘Shayba’(‘Puck’) rink shortly after visiting Sirius education centre in Sochi.
During a break the Russian leader was seen briefly discussing the minor finger injury he got during a judo session on Thursday.
“It’s nothing, pulled [the finger] a little, the nail ripped off. It's okay, I'm not a girl, I won't cry. Although our girls are very strong,” Putin joked to Ezio Gamba, general manager of the Russian national judo teams.
On February 14, Putin injured a finger on his right hand during a sparring warm-up session with Russian judo champion Beslan Mudranov.
