US Markets Claw Back Lost Ground

The Dow Jones was up 0.15% at 17,992.29, The S&P 500 was up 0.12% at 2,111.03 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq rose 0.12% at 5,128.
Latest numbers on US consumer spending showed a monthly increase of 0.9%, the biggest gain in six years and accelerating from April's 0.1% rise.
Oil and gas producer Magnum Hunter Resources shares rose 21.4% after it said it expected to raise $600-$700m by selling its 45.5% stake in its natural gas gathering subsidiary, Eureka Hunter Holdings.
