SOT, Ozgul Saki, activist (Turkish): "Lately, we hear the deportation of Syrian refugees under the temporary protection are being forced to sign the voluntarily return certificate and the refugees which are being taken under custody on the process of deportation have been exposed to disenfranchisement and being treated badly. A short while ago, the Istanbul governorship announced that they will give a certain amount of time to the refugees which came from elsewhere to leave Istanbul."

Pro-refugee activists protested in Istanbul on Friday, against the arrest and reported deportation of thousands of refugees who the Turkish government says are unregistered.
The protesters were filmed exhibiting numerous placards and banners denouncing repatriations.
The Turkish government has reportedly arrested over 6,000 refugees it says are unregistered, including 2,600 Afghans and around 1,000 Syrians. According to Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, although the Turkish government had not forcibly deported any Syrian refugees, sending them to a refugee camp on the Syrian border instead, some had voluntarily decided to return.
