New Yorkers began leaving flowers outside the French Consulate on Friday following the news that over 120 people were killed in multiple attacks on the French capital. There was a heightened security presence around the consulate along with other sensitive buildings in New York. Additionally, Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York, announced that the Freedom Tower's spire would be lit in the colours of the French flag in solidarity with the victims. Over 120 people are feared dead in a series of seemingly coordinated attacks in Paris. At least 87 people were killed in siege at the Bataclan arts centre. A further 40 were killed in various incidents across the city, including a triple bombing of the area outside the Stade de France and two gunmen attacks on restaurants in the centre of the city. Responding the attacks, US President Barack Obama said America will help France in doing what it can to bring the "terrorists to justice."
