Pro-Kurdish demonstrators gathered in front of the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles, on Sunday, as people urged the US President Donald Trump to bring the US troops back to north-east Syria, amid the ongoing Turkish offensive.
Protesters chanted slogans, such as: "Erdogan fascist" and "ISIS made in Turkey," accusing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of genocide against the Kurdish population.
"I have several family members die, actually, [a] 12-year-old, his name was Muhammed, he died. And his sister, 8-year-old, she lost her leg. At night time they go into bunkers, during the day they go back to their home and during the night they go back to the bunker," said one of the protesters.
Thousands of protesters have come out on the streets in recent days since Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of a military operation, dubbed 'Operation Peace Spring', on October 9 to create a 'safe zone' cleared of US-backed Kurdish groups.
