SOT, local (Arabic): "I wish for every Iraqi woman not to remove black clothes. These are all our children, and for us they went out in demonstrations, to demand our rights."

SOT, local (Arabic): "Why all these martyrs? So far the province of Babylon has provided 12 martyrs. Why were they killed? They were assassinated by parties. There is a third party assassinating these young people, who is this party? Why can't the government declare who this third party is? Because it is their parties. What is the guilt of mothers? To pay for their corruption and tyranny by power?"

SOT, local (Arabic): "We want to demonstrate, we only carry Iraqi candles and flags. The whole world has come to know that we are a peaceful people and that we are oppressed. We only have candles and flags. We will not leave the squares until another corrupt government emerges."

Protesters held a candlelight vigil in the Babylon province on Tuesday, for people who lost their lives during confrontations with security forces.
The group marched with candles and Iraqi flags.
"Why all these martyrs? So far the province of Babylon has provided 12 martyrs. Why were they killed?," deplored one of the participants.
"We want to demonstrate, we only carry Iraqi candles and flags. The whole world has come to know that we are a peaceful people and that we are oppressed. We only have candles and flags. We will not leave the squares until another corrupt government emerges," she continued.
Protests broke out in the country on October 1, sparked by unemployment, deep-seated corruption and a lack of basic services.
According to a report released by the UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) on Tuesday, an estimated 97 people have been killed at anti-government demonstrations between October 25 and November 4, while thousands more have been injured.
