Argentina: Mothers of Plaza de Mayo hold 38th Resistance March in Buenos Aires

The Mothers of Plaza de Mayo gathered in Buenos Aires on Thursday to hold the 38th edition of their "March of the Resistance" commemorating their fight for human rights and in protest against the current Argentine government of President Mauricio Macri.
Marchers braved rainy weather under a banner reading "do not give up, do not negotiate, do not be silent, do not forgive, do not forget. Always fight."
Mothers of Plaza de Mayo is an association of mothers whose children vanished during the reign of the military dictatorship between 1976 and 1983. The marches of the resistance became an annual event in 1981.
"We are older but always with the same strength always with the same desire. And at such a difficult time for the country with so many problems, it is more necessary that we go out," Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo co-founder Hebe de Bonafini said. "It is like a vindication to our children, to show that there are ways to fight, without breaking, without painting without disarming anything. It's been almost 42 years already."
The groups are taking aim at Argentine President Mauricio Macri's administration after he took office in 2015, having not protested between 1981 and 2006 under Nestor Kirchner's government as 'the enemy was no longer in the Casa Rosada.'
