Person Shot Trying to Gain Entry Into U.S. Air Base in Arkansas

A person attempting to gain entry into the Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas on Monday was shot outside a gate, sending the installation into lockdown, according to base officials and local media reports.
a post on the Little Rock Air Force Base's Facebook page said."Base gates are currently closed to traffic as emergency personnel respond the incident at the base gate. The safety of base personnel and their families are our utmost concern,"
A man wearing a bomb protection suit could be seen near a sports utility vehicle by the gate in photos from the scene posted on the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette website. The vehicle appears to belong to the suspect, it said.
The base is home to the 19th Airlift Wing and has more than 8,000 active-duty military and civilian members, it said on its website.
