Igor Konashenkov, the Russian Defence Ministry spokesperson, said on Sunday from Moscow that during the last 24 hours Russian Air Force destroyed 63 so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) targets making 64 sorties from Hmeymim airbase. Konashenkov also said that a second videoconference on security, involving the experts from Russia and US, took place. Both sides had a discussion that was "professional and constructive" to ensure "safety for military aviation during strikes on international terrorists in Syria." Regarding the situation of the militants of the the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), Konashenkov stated that the data taken from radio intercepts "indicates a growing panic among ISIS terrorists." Russia began conducting airstrikes against IS positions in Syria on September 30, after Syrian Government officially requested Russian aid.
