Drone footage showed an alligator on the loose near Tbilisi's Heroes' Square, Sunday, after severe flooding throughout Saturday night destroyed several enclosures in the city's zoo, killing a number of the animals and letting others loose. At least 12 people have died in the floods, including two zoo employees, and several buildings across the capital have been badly damaged. Aside from the alligator, which is still at large, several other animals escaped from the zoo including a lion, a tiger and a baboon. A number of animals have been recaptured, including a hippopotamus that was cornered and tranquilised in one of Tbilisi's main squares earlier on Sunday, but many others have died as a result of the floods. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili advised residents of the capital to stay indoors until all the escaped animals have been found.
