"Many many former Soviet countries are armed with BUK missiles," stated the Russian ambassador to Malaysia Valery Yermolov during a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, adding that "also some members of the NATO alliance like Greece are armed with BUK missiles." Yermolov also said that the BUK missiles have a guarantee 'best before' period of 25 years, stating that "in 2011 these missiles were decommissioned in the Russian Army." During the press conference the Russian ambassador to Malaysia also claimed that Ukraine still holds 520 of these expired BUK missiles. According to the Yermolov, Russia has already appealed to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) for a new probe into the MH17 crash due to fears of bias by the Dutch Safety Board's findings.
