Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko flew aboard a Sukhoi SU-27 jet fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force during his visit to the International Airport of Zaporozhye, Wednesday. During the visit, the Ukrainian president greeted the authorities of the airport, as well as the Air Force crews deployed at the site. Shortly afterwards, Poroshenko sit in the cockpit of the jet behind the pilot, wearing a complete uniform including the helmet, before taking a flight over the airport. The Su-27 is a twin-engine fighter aircraft designed by Russian manufacturer Sukhoi. It entered service with the Soviet Air Forces in 1985. Later, Russia started development of advanced variants of the Su-27 including the Su-30, Su-33, Su-34, Su-35, and Su-37.
