Russia: Putin chairs meeting on Russia's new armaments programme

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about Russia's new state armaments programme during a meeting with the country's top military officials in Sochi, on Monday.
The new state armaments program is intended to neutralise external threats, Putin explained. Among the meeting attendees were Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov, and Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.
The draft of the programme was said to be almost finished, with Putin adding that its implementation will influence combat capabilities of the Russian army in the coming decade.
