Why China's Army Has Banned Smartwatches

The new Apple Watch may be a hugely popular gadget in China but China's leading military newspape says rsmartwatches pose a serious threat to the 1.6 million-strong People's Liberation Army. The warning was a carried in a Liberation Army Daily report, at a time when China's is trying to boost cybersecurity and plug security loopholes created by overseas-made technology.
The report says "The moment a soldier puts on a device that can record high-definition audio and video, take photos, and process and transmit data, it's very possible for him or her to be tracked or to reveal military secrets." The report did not mention any specific brands.
