Великобритания: Феминисти атакуваха червения килим за премиерата на Суфражетка

Women's activist group Sisters Uncut blockaded the red carpet at the world premier of the film Suffragette which was showing on the opening night of the British Film Insitute (BFI) film festival at the Odeon theatre in Leicester Square, London on Wednesday. Several activists from Sisters Uncut were forced back by security guards while attempting to break into the red carpet area, while another group of activists managed to form a human blockade on the red carpet for around an hour while chanting for women's rights. The film Suffragette portrays the struggle for women's right to vote, however activists from Sisters Uncut say that the struggle is not yet over, pointing to statistics such as two women a week in the UK being killed by domestic violence and protesting against government cuts to resources to tackle domestic violence. The BFI film festival opened on Wednesday with the film showing of Suffragette and will run until October 18.
