France: Hundreds demand justice for Adama Traore in Paris

Hundreds of protesters demanded justice for Adama Traore, who died in police custody, at a rally organised by Traore's family members in Paris on Saturday.
The rally took place in front of the Paris Nord train station, after riot police prevented the protesters to march to Place de la Republique.
The gathering took place after the results of the second expertise of Traore's autopsy were published, suggesting that Traore died of asphyxiation, as opposed to the official police version according to which 'a serious infection' caused his death.
Adama Traore died in police custody near Paris on July 19, following his arrest for extortion charges. Local authorities claim that Traore fell prey to a 'serious infection,' adding that the autopsy did not reveal any traces of violence. Traore's friends and family reject the claims however, accusing police of his death.
