Army sappers from Russia's International Mine Action Centre continued the process of removing explosives from the roads leading to the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra, on Monday.
Reportedly more than 120 explosive devises have been defused by Russian bomb disposal experts since the beginning of the operation, which began almost a week ago.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the mine clearance teams to enter Syria last Tuesday, after reaching an agreement with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the UNESCO chief in charge of the preservation of Palmyra.
Palmyra was liberated on March 27 by the Syrian Armed Forces with the help of the Russian Aviation Group after being under control of the so-called Islamic State (IS/formerly ISIS/ISIL) since May 2015.
